The 4th installment of our vacation saga happened over the weekend of July 26th-29th. To be honest it wasn't really a vacation at all, it was a mission trip. Karen and I were in charge of a young families mission trip to O'Fallon, Missouri. We took 13 families (26 adults and 30 kids) to O'Fallon to help spread the word about CrossHaven Community Church. We got the word out by placing 4,000 fliers and brochures on peoples door's on Friday and by hosting 4 block parties on Saturday. God really blessed our efforts by rewarding us with great weather, responsive neighbors, and a great time of fun and fellowship. On a personal note my family loved the walks through the neighborhoods, the pool at the hotel, and mostly the FIRETRUCKS at the block parties. If one of my kids ever turned up missing, you just had to find the firetruck and you would find them. This trip was a great way to introduce our children to the importance and necessity of missions. We hope it was a weekend that they never forget, I know we won't.
